I went tonight and saw the debut of United 93. I have to say that it was the type of experience that I have only had a few times in life. One of those times was 9/11/01. Tonight was also one of those times. When the movie was over, there was only dead silence in a full theater accompanied by lots of crying. Walking out of the theater was the same way. I could not even catch my breath. I along with everyone else who went to this movie had a sense of reverence for that fateful day.
Everyone should see this movie if they can. It is R for some violence. The director worked with all the Families of the victims. It is accurate by all accounts. We as Americans need so much to remember that day. We have to live our lives but we also need to keep the lessons of 9/11/01 fresh so this will never happen again! I'm sure the 3000 who passed on that day want us to live our lives as well. We will not forget them.
The Hero's of United 93 were the first Americans to be ushered into the post 9/11 era, first hand. May our ability to enjoy and live life as it was before 9/11/01 return some day. Until then, let this movie take us back in time so we may ensure that this event, heaven forbid will not repeat. If I could make a wish for someone other than myself, I would wish that those two towers were still standing and that 3000 more people were still living their lives today, 4/28/06.
All I have to say is WOW!
God bless the USA. |
